Attn: Advancement

The Gooden School

192 North Baldwin Avenue

Sierra Madre, CA 91024

All donations to The Gooden School are tax-deductible to the full extent allowed by law. The school's tax ID number is 95-2975420.

Credit Cards

Credit cards may also be used by making an online donation or by calling Mr. Steven Vanderpool, at (626) 355-2410 x 35.

Stocks or Securities

Giving a gift of appreciated stock typically offers tax-saving by avoiding the capital gains tax on the increase in the value of a stock and providing an income tax deduction for the full market value of the stock at the time the gift is given. For further information, contact Mr. Steven Vanderpool.

Matching Corporate Gifts

There are many employers who will match their employees’ donations. Some of the local and national companies that match gifts to non-profit independent schools like Gooden include Bank of America, Wells Fargo, The Capital Group, The Walt Disney Company, Union Bank, Johnson & Johnson, Boeing, and Southern California Edison.   This avenue often provides a way to double or sometimes even triple your donation. If you would like to know if your company will match your gift, or volunteer hours, enter the company name in search engine below, or contact Mr. Steven Vanderpool.

Planned Giving

Funds from planned gifts, such as bequests or charitable trusts, will be added to an endowment fund.  An endowment will help to guarantee that The Gooden School will be able to serve the community for generations to come.  If you are interested in planned giving or making Gooden a beneficiary of your estate plan, please contact Mr. Steven Vanderpool.

Donor-Advised Funds

The Gooden School welcomes contributions from your donor-advised fund or family foundation. If you have questions about making your gift, please contact Mr. Steven Vanderpool.

In-Kind Contributions

The Gooden School welcomes non-monetary gifts, such as equipment, materials, and supplies that provide relief to the operating budget or align with current priorities. Please contact the Mr. Steven Vanderpool if you are interested in making an in-kind donation.

Comprehensive Campaign

Capital campaigns allow independent schools to expand, update, or create space for students and teachers.  Past capital campaigns at The Gooden School allowed for the construction of the Edwards Building and the construction and rededication of Heflin Hall. Current discussions are underway for the next capital campaign which would include the replacement of the Jameson Building, which houses the school’s music program and its Gooden After School Program (GASP), and an upgrade of the Barber House, the school’s historic administrative building.

Memorial and Tribute Gifts

Gifts in honor or memory of a friend or family member or in recognition of a significant event may be made to any fund. Simply give online and make a note in the comment section of our online form; if giving by phone, inform Mr. Steven Vanderpool that you would like to make a memorial or honorary gift.
