A word from our Assistant Head of School

Thank you for visiting The Gooden School! It is my great pleasure to serve as the Assistant Head of School and support the academic and social programs from Kindergarten through Eighth Grade.

The Gooden School academic program is designed to prepare students for the demands of a college preparatory program in high school. A faculty of passionate and exceptionally-qualified teachers helps students achieve this goal by setting objectives that focus on student achievement and growth. This is done through the integration  of the performing and visual arts, service learning projects, and  after-school athletics and enrichment programs. Instruction in core subjects includes language arts, mathematics, science, global studies, world languages (Spanish and Latin), physical education, drama, art, music, STEAM and service learning.

As an Episcopal school, Gooden values and supports building empathy, kindness and respect in our students. All members of our community model our motto - Respect for Self, Respect for Others, Respect for the World. Woven throughout our curriculum and our chapel program, students are taught how to navigate social dynamics, how to be kind to others, and how to create a positive impact on their communities.

The academic and co-curricular programs at The Gooden School are exemplary; though demanding they are also rewarding. Students who return for alumni events tell us that they have been well prepared.

I look forward to connecting with you in the future!
