A word from our Assistant Head of School

As Assistant Head of School, I am honored to support a community of educators, students, and families who are guided by our foundational motto: Respect for Self, Respect for Others, and Respect for the World.

At Gooden, these values are not simply taught, they are lived each day in our classrooms, on the playground, in chapel, and through the relationships that make this school so special. We believe that students flourish when they are truly known, seen, and heard. Our classrooms are safe, joyful spaces where children are encouraged to take risks, ask questions, and grow into confident, curious learners.
Our dedicated faculty are passionate, exceptionally qualified, and committed to helping each student reach their full potential academically, socially, and emotionally. The academic program at Gooden is both rigorous and deeply supportive, designed to educate the whole child, mind and heart alike.

From transitional kindergarten through eighth grade, students engage in a rich and well-rounded curriculum that includes language arts, mathematics, science, and global studies, all taught through an inquiry-driven lens. Our world language program begins in kindergarten with Spanish and expands to include Latin beginning in fourth grade. Students also participate in visual and performing arts, music, drama, and design-based learning through our STEAM and innovation programs. Physical education supports health, movement, and teamwork, while service learning and chapel experiences guide students to consider their role in the world with empathy, purpose, and integrity.

We want our students to be academically prepared and emotionally grounded. Our graduates leave Gooden not only ready for the next level of their education, but equipped with a strong sense of who they are, what they value, and how they hope to make a meaningful impact.
Thank you for taking the time to learn more about The Gooden School. I look forward to welcoming you to campus and sharing more about what it truly means to grow great minds and Gooden hearts.

With warmth and gratitude,
Bailey Stith
